Dallas wins 35-32 over New York tonight. That had to be the wildest, most entertaining game I've ever seen on Monday night. If you didn't like that game, you just don't like football. Too bad I didn't tape it.

A good day - Saints win 31-10 over the Texans. Skins also hold out against Atlanta 33-31. I would have been perfect were I able to actually watch the Saints victory. I saw the majority of the Skins game, and I was going to go watch the Saints/Texans game at a local sports bar, but they weren't showing it. What ticks me off is they were showing the GB-Detroit game on two TV's and only like two people were watching it . Needless to say that place won't be getting a dime of my money anymore. If anyone knows any good sports bars in the D.C./NoVa area, I'd really like to know. Nothing so far has beat this little dinky bar in Blacksburg called Champs. They showed EVERY game - and you could see all of them because they had a bunch of TVs, including two big screens, all stacked up in the same place. On top of that, a pint of draft beer was a $1.50. Man, those were the days. I'm thinking about going back for a Master's.
I also found out that you can't get NFL Sunday Tickets unless you have DirecTV or some such - the cable companies won't do it. They show every other sport - baseball, NBA, NHL, College football, and even Golf, but no NFL. Why did it have to be the NFL?!?! Grrrrrr....

I got some recording equipment last weekend - I hadn't had time to fool around with it until last tonight. Anyway heres my first recording
. You can tell its me because I mess up twice. See if you can guess the piece. 5 points for period, 10 points for composer, 15 points if you can guess the work. For you perfect pitch people, 20 points for the key if you don't know it from the work. And if you can tell me what specific instrument I'm using, you're just insane. No cheating!
My recording setup is pretty neat. I've got some software that can do all sorts of things with audio processing and MIDI, plus virtual instruments like a synthesizer, a guitar and a sampler. Maybe I'll make some remakes of those cheesy early 80s songs. Stay tuned.

The Saints got crushed 27-10 by the Seahawks. The Seahawks played better than I expected. I guess Ray Rhodes is going to make a huge difference there Too bad he's not coaching the Saints. They just didn't seem to have their act together. Four turnovers for them and none for Seattle. You;'ll lose ever single game you play if you do that. The Bucs and Carolina won. The Bucs offense doesn't really impress me at all, I think the Saints can handle them like last year. And I think they can score enough points on offense, and maybe get some help from special teams so they can win at least one of their meetings. They'll have to win other games, though. Cheeseheads lost to the Vikings, I wonder who a certain acquaintance of mine was rooting for in that one?
At least Virginai Tech won, although it came as no suprise as they played AA James Madison. Too bad I missed the ND game, I heard it was a pretty thrilling OT win..

Well the New Orleans Saints ended their preseason with a loss to Dolphins tonight 24-18. I didn't get to see the game, I was watching the Redskins debacle against the Jaguars(incidentally at that game, Sonny Jurgenson said their high schoolers who played at halftime, or was it before the game, looked better than the Skins!). Aaron Brooks had one pass attempt, I guess he didn't play much. Deuce McCallister didn't appear on the scorecard, I think he didn't play at all. It looks like the Dolphins had their first string O for a significant amount of time. So maybe it was a decent loss. The way they played against the 49ers last week has me a bit queasy about the upcoming season. I'm not sure who its going to be in the SuperBowl this year. I think it might be the Eagles. And I hate the Eagles.
I hope to catch the Saints when they come to D.C. on the 30th of November. I'm still debating whether to wear any Saints outerwear. I saw a Redskins/Giants game a couple of years back, and some of the fans seemed to be getting into it with each other. And that was with alot of Giants fans there, but I'll most likely be outnumbered 10-1. Maybe that would work to my advantage. If the Skins have a winning record at that point, I'm sure I'll hear it from the fans. I guess its a good thing they're not.

I just learned last night that the Allied forces in the Second World War actually had to fight French forces during their invasion of North Africa. Here is one good link: http://www.worldwar2history.info/North-Africa/
One more reason to dislike the French, I guess.
